Renting a Girlfriend in the Philippines: $12 an hour
This is the link to the video I reference in this talk: https://youtu.be/tmVv3ZSHdqA?si=SvuQVIoLyiywRTPR This is the first video in a 7 part series I’m making called “Renting a Girlfriend in the Philippines.” So you’ll need to be patient to hear the whole story. I want to begin by explicitly stating that this is not an endorsement for prostitution. And, I’m also not judging the Filipinas or foreigners who enter into this type of arrangement, because I can certainly understand why they both do it. I’ll admit that when I was younger the idea of a foreigner coming to the Philippines to basically pay for love seemed crazy until I got a little older and started to understand more about relationships, specifically how hard it is to get in a good relationship. And, just so you know this particular video is geared towards Filipinas, so they can better understand why men often choose to rent instead of pursuing a real relationship. It’s my hope that this might help them better position themselves, so they don’t actually miss a great opportunity for a real relationship with a foreigner.
